Following Sting and Darby Allin’s win over The Acclaimed in the main event of AEW Dynamite last night, after the show went off the air, Tony Khan, Sonjay Dutt, and Tony Schiavone came to the ring to celebrate with Sting! Khan teased a speech from the Icon after a few warm words, which the legend then delivered to the AEW audience and wrestling fans. It was a sight to behold and one that all Stinger and wrestling fans will remember.
It’s been a year since he made his historic and much-talked-about debut in the AEW Dynamite “Winter is Coming” episode, and he’s proven to fans and non-believers alike that he still has a lot to offer and can still put on a great show alongside the AEW roster’s new blood and, of course, Darby Allin.
It is indeed a win-win situation for AEW and Sting. AEW now has a legend, and the icon, on the other hand, has the chance to end his historic career on his own terms.
